Distance
First things first, many people do not want to be traveling for days to reach a ski resort, especially if the budget for the trip is tight. If there is a ski resort within driving distance, you should aim to book your holiday there first, and then, if you decide that you like it, go further afield for the next one.

Runs: More or Fewer?

Challenge Level
Black diamonds are how most ski resorts measure the level of challenge of the slopes. Some resorts will only have black diamond slopes which are great for novices and mid-level skiers.
However, if you are looking for a resort that has runs for more experienced skiers, then you will need to find one that has double or triple black diamond slopes. That way, you won’t get bored.
Location
The location of the resort will have an impact on its price.
However, if you are looking for a getaway, you may want a secluded resort, rather than one that is in a bustling town, but this is up to you. Many people prefer to be in a ski-based town, which also has nightlife and restaurants, to help you unwind after a day on the slopes.
Snowing or Not?
When you are considering heading to a ski resort, it is always worth checking the snow reports. It is always nicer to ski on fresh snow powder, but if there hasn’t been snow in the area for a while, there’s a chance that not all the runs will be open even on smaller resorts. You also need to find out how much snow is currently on the mountain when you were planning to book your trip and inquire about weather forecasts.
