Severe Weather Warning Issue for St Lucia
A severe weather warning has been issued for St Lucia.
The St Lucia Met Service at Vieux Fort says the island could be affected Wednesday afternoon by a strong tropical wave that's currently approaching the Windward Islands.
Forecasters say the system is moving quickly; bringing with it heavy rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds.
St Lucians are being warned to take all necessary precautions against flooding and landslides.
Small craft operators and fishermen have been advised against venturing far from port this afternoon and tonight.
Meteorologist, Venantius Descrates says the system was expected to develop into a tropical depression but weakened slightly and regained strength overnight.
