Sandals Wins Commercial House Calypso Crown
Sandals Resorts International is the winner of the 2008 Inter-commercial House calypso competition.
Their representative - Ricky G defeated 27 other contenders to capture the title Thursday night at the national Cultural Centre.
Reacting to the results, Radio's St Lucia's commentary said it was a fore-gone conclusion.
"We said from very early when he sang that he was one of those to beat in the competition and he proved us right," said Allen "Striker" Hippolyte.
And Ricky G walked away with a grand prize of five thousand dollars in cash.
The first runner trophy went to Super J Supermarket, followed by Bank of St Lucia and the Royal St Lucia Police Force.
Activities for carnival 2008 continue Friday with the hosting of the Panorama Competition at the Beausejour Stadium.
That will be followed by the Calypso Monarch finals at the Mindoo Phillip Park on Saturday.
