Academic Scholarship programmes from the Government of the Republic of China/Taiwan will be announced this afternoon.
A briefing by ROC Ambassador, Mr Ray Mou, is scheduled for 2.30PM at the Orchid Center, Union.
The Embassy says applications for the 2017 Taiwan ICDF Scholarship and I-SHOU Medical Scholarship programs are open until the deadline on March 15th, 2017. Delivery beyond that date, or applications without all required documents will not be accepted, the Embassy warns.
According to the Taiwan Embassy, the scholarship programs provide opportunities for young talented Saint Lucians to study in Taiwan for Bachelors, Masters or PhD degrees.
The list of Awardees will be posted on the Embassy’s website on 30th June, 2017.
Applicants are requested to choose ONLY ONE program to apply, multiple applications will result in direct disqualification of application. The Embassy will interview qualified applicants, who will be notified by phone.
For the I-SHOU Medical Scholarship applicants, both written exam and interview will be held at the Embassy. The written exam covers topics on English, Chemistry and Biology. The date is tentatively scheduled for 21st April, 2017. The interview will be conducted via skype with professors from Taiwan and the Embassy. The date is provisionally scheduled for 26th to 27th April, 2017. The actual date will be announced later.
